| | 3reef Moderator | I would say that is plenty. With 20 pounds I would play with what looks best and you have a lot of room to remove some.
I would say between 10 and 20 pounds would be enough

| Their really isn't any real answer to this as we have many forms of filtration ranging fro skimmer, cannister(mechanical), biological(sand and rock) and carbon addition(chemical)!
The piling up of live rock could pose a problem in terms of decreasing area to place corals, plus it inhibits the amount of water flow within your tank causing advection, diffusion and the accumulation of detritus within your rock work.
Plus rock of the same size can be significantly different weight wise, as some rock is more porous than others argueably making the porous rock more beneficial since it has more surface area for bacteria and other living organisms! _________ 125gal.w/Mag9.5 return(dual megaflow)>Mag7 pump Aqua Cev180skimmer.Wave2k Hamilton Reefstar(2)250watthqi(mh)pend.a Yellow, Naso Tang Red Lip Blenny Percula Clown Demoiselles Niger Trigger F. | I find myself alot of the time, second guessing...part of how we learn and you shouldn't feel bad or get frustrated about it! If you are hessitant, feel free to ask us and someone will be able to help steer you in the right direction, I'm sure.
Good luck with the tank!
We are constantly learning, which is part of the reason why this hobby is so much fun and entertaining. |

| 20 lbs of rock is allot for a 12 gal. cube. --- Need to leave some space in there for critters (& as others said, water flow might be an issue).
I have only about 5-6 lbs in mine.
