Heavy Salt Dip LR?

Hello everyone, I have 16lbs of LR and another 20lbs of LR rubble which has been curing for 2 weeks that I plan on adding to my fuge. Last night while inspecting each piece I found a large aiptasia on one and gave him an injection of scalding hot water which does the job very nice. Question is this, should I dip each piece into a bucket with a high salt content for 5 minutes to see if anymore crawl off and possibly any mantis? Or should I just continue inspecting each piece each night while it cures? Any help from those of you who have been there done this many times now would be appreciated!

Hey reef ghost.....I grew up in Bridgewater.....I've never done a heavy salt dip....can't help you there

if your wanting to get rid of the unfriendlies you can nuke the rock or patiently pick them out. the first will rid the rock of everything, the second you can choose what stays and goes.

Well first off rock has little place in a refugium.. There should be a dsb there to help out in way rock can't But if you have the refugium set up properly the aptasia is better to be in there then a bunch of rock. A refugium is nothing more or less buy a micro saltwater marsh/swamp and for some reason in the last 10 yrs since they have came into vogue with more hobbyist who'd like to think they reinvented the wheel and added their slant to it until the little swamp is now a second aquarium. Man talk about overdoing and thinking a simple concept .. A 4 to 5 inch deep sand bed witha million aptasias will do more for the water quality of you system then a ton of rock.. But you will have to replenish some agraonite every yr or so .
