| Found on my LR Anybody know what this is? It just showed up in my tank. Must have been a hitch-hiker. I thought it might be a small anenome, but wasn't sure. Does anyone know for sure what this is? |

| Aiptasia , not a friendly sort.
they will multiply and sting your corals (most cosider these things a pain in the rear end)
kill it , more will most likely pop up on you in other places.
Ive seen these things riddle a tank, DO NOT FEED IT. lol

If you dont remove them, they become a menace.
Their very hardy to they ALWAYS come in on new uncurred LR,
If you plan on having coral's then remove it.
I noticed theres alot of brown color to your LR , the rock and tank is new ?
Turn those lights off.
If you must or want to see some light begin with (blue actinic only for a couple hours while your home)
This will begin to help you build coraline ( i see little blue/purplish spots on the rock as well , coraline and thats a GOOD thing )
Just for a couple of hours though for now a night,"if you cant stand it and have to have light".

| | 3reef Moderator | Coral Banded will not eat aptasia. 50/50 on the peppermint. They tend to eat it or not. Plus they will not eat them quickly. So they will multiply to a population that would be uncontrollable. I would search 3Reef for Aptasia and find the thousand of remedies out there.
But I would defiantly take action now |

| they can be the biggest pain in the rear, after 20 bottles of joes juice ,lemon juice ,kalkwasser, peppermint shrimp ect ,get rid of it asap! just dont crush it into little pieces ,little pieces can sometime make new pieces. |
