I have a 20 gallon FOWLR aquarium. This is an LED fixture that I want to get. Is this dependable?

link doesn't work, but if its FOWLR, it doesn't matter a whole lot, just try to stay away from "grow lights" and white heavy lights due to algae issues.

What if I use an 18" fixture with an aquarium of 24" long?

For a fish only system, any light will work man. Any light. flashlight, clamp light, floros, sun light, those leds, its not doing anything but making them viewable by you.

If you are going LED I would put a little more into and get a rapid DIY kit. That way if you ever decide to get into corals you already have the light and wont have to buy another. Just save you a little $$ in the long run

Marineland does offer a fixture that is pretty cheap and would work well with FOWLR but would never suggest it to grow a lot of corals
