Pretty neat animals. I've been toying with the idea of getting into cephs for over a year now. The part I can't get over is the short life span. It would be hard knowing an animal you are emotionally attached to will be gone in a matter of months no matter how well you take care of it.

@ seano. Since they list it as the a Sepia spp., the most common species of cuttlefish. They get up to a 19" mantle.

I absolutely love cuttlefish. And you definitely get personally attached to them even if you only spend 6 weeks with one that belongs to someone else LOL.

Wow. Tank raised cuttlefish. That would be something. I'd love to see a school of those in a tank.

Good point. I'd have a hard time with that too.

you have no idea how long i have been waiting for this!!

they probably have the scientific name wrong, because as far as i know the one species that they were closes to breeding and selling publicly was the smaller variety, which is what this one is. i read in a magazine article, i believe it was aquarium usa or something like that and they had a whole article on these little things. i believe you can keep up to 1 pair in a 30 gallon tank.
