| You will have a lot of algae without them. They are part of your maintenance crew....my own opinion... they are very necessary. _________ Scott 265g (Peninsula)

| | Guest | Yes, but I have a nano (11 gallons ) & have no problem keeping up with the algae. It only takes a few minutes everyday or every other day. I don't think I have a copper problem. It is a new system, but I did notice a hermit crab piggy - backed in on one of my orders. | |

| Some snails are also good for stirring up your sand bed, if you have one. Nassarius snails will bury themselves and you'll usually only see them when its feeding time. I believe Cerith snails are also good for that same purpose.
I can say this much, i have two tanks and while obviously they are different, there is one with snails and one without. The tank with snails has less algae and is cleaner. |

| I have a 12 gallon nano cube dx. I have about 9 snail in it. 6 turbos and 3 nassarius. They are very benefial in my opinion. |
