Default Shrimp in 24/7 lighing? stressful for the shrimp?

I have my refugium running on my FOWLR tank now but of course i've noticed aipatsia anemones in there as well. i'm sorely tempted to just let them have the tank and deal with them later but they are going nuts in there now.

i was wondering if i could put a couple peppermint shrimp in the refugium (after i get my nitrates down). The refugium is lit 24/7 and i know for a great many animals thats very stressful. I was wondering if anyone has had shrimp in a set up like this. I would run it reverse daylight but i really need that caulerpa to grow like mad to suck up some nitrates.

(btw the caulerpa is growing much much faster than i had anticipated...i'm impressed and worried at the same time).

I was hoping that at least if the shrimp were in the fuge then at least that would be one reasonably anemone free place...that and not many pods are likely to live if it ends up looking like my display tank .

i also had soem hopes for moving some live rock from teh display to the refug to let the shrimp have at the anemones on there.

in case you're wondering i cant put them in the display since my sea goblin would eat them as fast as they get in range.

Thanks for the info and ideas.

I think it may stress the shrimp out a bit.
It is good to have the fuge lights on 24x7 bc. it helps keep the PH more stable.
I would set the lights to turn on oppposite to that of the main tank so that the PH will still remain more stable and will also allow your shrimp to rest. Just watch out for some of your beneficial algae and if it starts spreading like crazy then it is time to re-think the strategy. I currently am running my system that way.

Hope that helps.

I agree that 24/7 will likely stress out your shrimp.

Id say it might stress them out. My cleaners come out somewhat with the lights on but at night there out all over the place. And my bloodshrimp is a night critter i never see him during the day hes a hider but let the lights go out and he shows himself. Also with cleaner shrimp they shed there eggs late at night if anyone has ever seen this.
