| that is unusual, are you sure its a bta? if so you could just have a rough (sp?) shrimp, i have had a couple rough shrimp hahah, by your description of it tearing out its flesh it doesnt sound like it was cleaning it though |

| Are you sure you've got a peppermint shrimp and not a camelback? They do look very similar and the camelback is not reef safe. If you're sure that it's a peppermint, then you have a very naughty shrimp. Remove it asap. |

Anyway, yes I am quite sure it is a BTA and it is a peppermint shrimp... My buddy was also with me when it happened, so he saw it too. I haven't seen him back near the bta since it happened. BTA seems to be doing great so I will just keep an eye out and if I see it again I'll try to remove the shrimp.

I have peppermint shrimp in both my tanks, each one has a bta in it too, never had any problems. This is a real shocker! |

Who online sell them for reasonable prices?
