Natural answer to ridding your tank of Aiptasia

Just becareful if you have Camel or Peppermint shrimp in the tank containing Aiptasia anemones.
They are a bit pricy these nudibranches and I guess do better in a group, plus they will reproduce as well!

Great animals but if they don't get sucked through and ground up by your powerheads and such, you will have to set up a separate tank just to grow aiptasia to keep them alive once they eat all of the ones in your tank.

Anything you use that is a natural predator, once the anemones are gone, then what? They'll starve and muck up the water.

I had a really bad problem with Aptasia I ordered 22 of the Berghia. Cost me a small fortune and a days pay as I ran around trying to pasify Canadian customs. Well I say them for the first day or so then nothing. Still had a ton of Aptasia.
I wonder if my Leopard Wrasse did them in

One thing I will say is Saltyunderground is great to deal with.

The owners of Saltyunderground are great friends of mine. They live here in St. Louis with me and I'm glad to hear that you had a great experience with them.

Leopard wrasses and Scott's Fairy wrasses are pretty good at picking them off. I truly hope they are just temporarily hiding. Do you have a quarantine tank you can temporarily put the leopard in?

That's what reef clubs are for. (I'm evil aren't I???) (private joke....you aren't supposed to understand).

Seriously, it's pretty cool here in St. Louis. We do move many natural predators amongst many club members tanks and they don't starve. However, we do have a sea hare that's downright scary at this point because it's so big. It's not hard to set something like this up. Any club can do it.

Thats how a lot clubs are. Do a club order on nusiance predators and they go from tank to tank as needed. Untill they get to big, then they get donated to an aquarium.
