Smile Nassarius Obsoleta Aka Mudd Snail

I was thinking about ordering a 100 or them for my Reef tank. Good Idea or not. Also were is a good cheap place to buy that many? Thanks!

Wow, seems like a lot, but it might make more sense to us if you noted your tank size.

Then, we would be able to suggest a good number for the size aquarium. Placing too many = casualties. The more you add, the more competition amongst them there will be.

Although they are quite hardy, I wouldn't add them until your tank develops more detritus. Anyway, how old is your tank?

You bave to be careful about how many you order for your tank so that you don't end up starving them. Make sure your tank can handle that many too! As mentioned previously, is your tank a mature tank? IMO, I would start with a few then gradually add more based on bio-load.
Moreover, I would diversify(like the stock market) and add different kinds of snails and hermits etc...Nasssarius snails aren't really going to help keep your microalgae in check, they are more apt to clean up food and detritus on and in the substrate I believe.
