Default Is my anemone a killer?

Hey, I have a green bubble tip anemone - have had it for a couple months now. Well, like probably a month after I had it, my skunk cleaner shrimp just disappears (like one night he's there, the next morning, gone - no remains, no nothing). Then last week, one of my fire fish just disappeared (again, there that night, gone the next morning, no remains, no nothing). Obviously, I thought at first that they might just be hiding, but the shrimp I'm sure is gone (after about a month of not seeing him) and the fish, well, he'd be getting awefully hungy by now... Anyway, I'm wondering - you guys think these disappearances could be a product of the anemone getting them? I just found it odd that there was no remains at all from either of them, if they just died and the crabs etc got to them... Also seems like a coincidence that they would happen relatively around the same time. I've checked my water to make sure it's OK (no amonia or nitrites or anything out of the ordinary) and it seems fine... Any thoughts?

Wink Re: Is my anemone a killer?

Perhaps they were sucked into a powerhead or into the filter system?

Personally, I think they eloped together and found a nice cave in your neighbor's tank to raise tiny shrimp-fish mutant babies!

Default Re: Is my anemone a killer?

I have a bubble tip anemone that I was told was a rose bubble, but it looks like a green bubble tip and I have 2 peppermint shrimp, 1 blood red fire shrimp, and one cleaner shrimp...the peppermint shrimp used to hang out around the anemone, but the peppermint shrimp have decided that they love my purple condy and hang out by that MOST of the time. Also, needless to say...neither anemone has consumed any of my shrimp, nor anything else in the tank that I didn't feed it.

This doesn't necessarily help you, but the more info provided, hopefully will help you figure out whats going on.

Mike
