Did you buy yours or was it a hitchhiker?

I feed mine all sorts of things. Frozen krill, Frozen Formula 1, Frozen silversides, etc. Additionally, I occasionally would lose a member of my clean up crew.

I've also kept common hitchhikers like wennerae. I've kept fish and many crabs with them. I've never lost a fish to a common hitchhiking mantis. I don't keep fish and crabs with my O.s.

Wennerae was the species that I kept for a year or so before I lost it during a molt. It was pretty reclusive and shy, until those feeding tongs came out anyhow

That is neat that you had one as a member of your tank, I was led to believe that they were dangerous for a tank. Guess you take what you hear with a grain of salt. Thanks for sharing.

If you ever get another one, read this article.....in particular, the FAQ on how to get your mantis to like you on page 7.
