| I gotta post this... The wife and I went to the LFS today to see what they have and what they might be getting in.
Well, my wife saw a snail she liked, but didn't want to make a trip back home just to acclimate a snail...and we were on our way to grab a bite to eat.
So, she put the thing on hold. A snail. On hold...
Thought you might get a kick outta that!

| LOL!!!
I can't talk. I wanted a cat. Rachel said it was OK as long as it was the same color as a Russian Blue. I found a kitten that was the same color and paid $9 for him and named him Caspian. Then I wanted a dog. Rachel said OK, as long as it was a yellow dog. That's how I got Cheyenne, my yellow lab. Then I said I wanted another dog, she said it was OK as long as it was the color of coffee. That's how I ended up with a chocolate lab named Cherokee.
To this day, I still don't understand the female mind. However, I've found ways of working around what I don't understand. |

| Its a zebra turbo. I got 3 of them for $2.50 a piece here in arizona. They are way cool! Their bodies are white, but their heads and "elephant trunk" are black. The shell is white with zebra stripes. My biggest one is 2 inches. _________ I managed to fit my whole world into a glass box at home. |

| Geez.... we got him in the tank yesterday and he seemed fine. Chowing down on some of the small algae patches, and looking really happy! I came home from work and the little dude is on his side all sucked up in his shell. Maybe he has indigestion...
However, the scarlet hermit is doing great! |

| It sounds like he might be dying. I went through alot of snails before I figured out how to keep them alive for more than a day. I definately always recommend a drip acclimation with snails. Just a peice of airline tubing connected to an airline regulator valve will let and 2 drip per second siphon come out and fill a cup or bowl with the snail in it. Basically just pour enough water from the lfs bag in to cover the snail and then let the drip fill up the rest until the water volume is at least 4 times as much as what you poured in from the lfs. Then when you place them in the tank, put them on a rock or somewhere flat, not on the glass. I always thought it would just add stress to make them hold themselves up while getting acclimated in the tank. When they are ready, they will go on the glass themselves. I havent lost one since I started doing that. |

| That's the process I do with everything (that's living) before going in the tank. Hmmm...I'll have to keep an eye on him. |
