Are Hydroid Jellyfish bad

Have noticed an Hydroid Jellyfish on my glass, figured out what it was from another post. Just wondering if they are bad or just filter feeders that wont cause any harm to the tank or the inhabitants.

no there just a filter feeder Quite cool really wont hurt fish or yourself

Actually, if you read...Hydroids are really bad in a coral reef. They are extremely toxic.

If you have the brown ones... read on.

Actually I was refering to the litle white ones that stick to the glass. Althogh I do have a few brown ones on an unpopulated area of live rock and they are not expanding at the moment will keep an eye on them. So the white ones are relatively harmeless then?

You can do a search on google on the general topic of "Hydroids," there are some that are acceptable I would think. As far as I have read, the brown ones seem to be the common pest. You should be ok. Also, dont let them just thrive, they spread just as fast as aiptasia. They drop the pom pom head and new colonies form.
