Does any one know what is the best way to place empty shells for hermits to jump to. Should they be hole side up or down and should they be hidden out from the open

_________

75 Gallon, 75 or better lbs Live Rock, Crushed Coral Substrate, 2 Koralia #3 PH, Fluval 305 Canister Filter, Emperor 400 Filter, Seaclone Skimmer, 4x65 PC

Work hard to play hard!

You can put them anywhere and in any postion. The crab will move it all around and check it out fully and clean it before moving in. Besides however you put it in it will probably get moved by snails, crabs, flow, etc.... If they need one they will find it or even kill for it.....ie snails!
