Hatching Brine Eggs

Anyone every done this? I bought San Francisco Bay Brand Brine shrimp eggs. I have set-up a container with water and the eggs with aeration. Can I just toss the eggs in the tank? Will this hurt my params, cloud water, etc? Anyone ever done that? I'm trying to hatch them for my mandarin.

Follow the directions on the back of the package.
FYI The brine do not contain enough nutrition for a mandarin

Throwing the eggs directly into the tank will foul your water. There are a few brine shrimp hatchery diagrams on the internet and some on-line stores sell them:

Newly hatched brine shrimp are more nutritional for fish than the adults are because for the first few days of life, they still have their egg sack.

You can always "gut load" or "gut pack" them using something like phytoplankton or blue green algae.

a few guys over here have started to use a phytoplankton feeder for growing and drip feeding brine shrimp. You just need to switch the unit off for 24 hrs till they hatch and switch back on. obviously you need an air stone to keep the eggs in suspension.....there is plenty of scope for a simple diy version...if you need any ideas just ask.
