I tried a couple years past.

Never lasted long.

Usually got stuck in rocks somewhere and wasted away.

Methinks they need lots more swimming room then normally found in our tanks.

Very pretty animal though.

thanks for the great article. Got hooked to my brand new flame scallop by my 7 year old.... and I have to admit.... it's amazing. It settled into the tank very quickly but seemed to be getting a bit to close to my green bubble tip anemone.... which looks to be hosting a gravid clown and her skinny clown guy! I did move the flame toward the back of the tank....
I'm sure i'll be up posting with questions about it in the next few days. Of course, its now in the area of the tank where my mandarin hangs out as I try to force feed him live brine shrimp. I hope I don't wind up with a tank full of anorexic verts and inverts! (guess better there than from my kids)
Anyway, thanks for the article.

I bought one about 2 months ago--I read this article and the one on plankton food. It found a place that it likes and I have left it there. In one article it stated that the size that you buy them at is usually near the end of their life time and may be the reason that they don't live that long in our tanks. The bigger they are, the older they are.
