hmm when i bought some they came out straight away but then sometimes they wouldnt come out for days. You could try tempting them with some food or just to make sure they are alive still, gently squeeze their tubing, if you feel them inside they should respond with some sort of movement.

Goodluck

My experience was that it never came out and finally the tube disintegrated. All my research leads me to believe that they are very temperamental and do not last very long in an aquarium...Good Luck...

I've had mine for about 6months now. and he's out every day. But if they do lose their feathers, be sure to target feed them untill they grow back to help them along a little.

sometimes they are tempermental..they dont handle stress well at all..infact if extremely stressed they will " pop their top" so to speak..but usually do well with regrowing them..mind didnt come out for a few days as not only do we acclimate to our tanks but they have to adapt or aclimate to their new surroundings.if its not out within a few days..try to entice with some food..or very carefully pinch it as stated above..be careful doing this as this is very stressful. and could cause it to lose its crown anyways..keep us updated!
