| Favorite Snail This little guy is my favorite snail, but I have no ID for him. I don't even know if he's good or not.
If anyone can help that'd be great. _________ &&&&20 Gal. , Millenium 1000 & 2000 filter, 130watt Corallife 50/50 reef lamp. Maroon Gold-striped Clown, Pygmy (Cherub) Angel, Skunk Cleaner shrimp, 8 Turbo Snails, 1 unknown cone snail , a branch of red grape calerpa , Sun Polyps, Blue-Green Striped shroom, Red shroom, Zoo Polyp colonies, & Green Star polyps, green monti. |

| Re: Favorite Snail You all positive that they're Nassaurius? It sure looks like a glowing marginella (Marginella pruniosum). Ok, I was just being nice, it is a Marginella. I don't know much about them other then that.

| Re: Favorite Snail What charcteristic makes you say that? Upon closer look the only thing I can see is that the foot doesn't trail the shell as is the case with Nassaurius. TIA. |

notice the ruffles and coloration of the shell and the end of the shell? Now look at Davids, they're almost completely smooth with a very blunt end. On page 206 - 207 of Paul Humann's "Reef Creature Identification - Florida, Caribbean, Bahamas" book you'll find an exact match to Davids snail.
I need more Florida marine ID books, mine don't even have Nassaurius snails in them. |
