Re: Favorite Snail I don't think so. Do you have any true turbo snails in your tank? If so they should take care of any algae any color. _________ http://www.3reef.com/uploads/reefmanMC.jpg&&Right now I'm in the middle of a conversion from reef to Discus/ planted aquarium. Hair algae beat me down. Maybe a nano in the future. Everything screwed up so I'm converting to FOWLR. Wish me luck.

Re: Favorite Snail Nassarius are mainly for detritus and will eat some brown algae. Turbos are much faster and more efficient when it comes to cleaning up algae. Turbos will pretty much eat any kind of algae.

Re: Favorite Snail I would recommend a little of both. Yes, the nassarius do stir in the sand and eat detritus keeping ammonia level at zero and the nitrate level as low as possible. The turbos are best for algae.
