Default Do amphipods molt?

do amphipods molt, similar to shrimp?
I've been seeing, what looks like tiny shrimp exo-skeletons floating around my tank.

and i just discovered hundreds of amphipods living inside my canister filter, when i cleaned it out yesterday. some as big as 1/2"

What you are seeing more then likely are dead ones that took a ride through the return pump on your canister filter.

i see their empty shells drifting in the current sometimes so i'd say yes

I have seen them both alive in the tank ( you have to look at night with a flashlight check the back glass) and alive in the sump (also at night with flashlight) and I also have seen what looks like drifting empty shells in the tank.

i find them alive in my filter sock everytime i change it. I also see the exoskeletons floating around from time to time as u do.

they love filters. Anywhere there's rotting food, they love to be.
