covering power heads for anemone

    when you guys say cover up power heads for to protect the anemones, you guy mean for maxi jet and pump type power heads right? do i need to cover up koralia or vortech type power heads?

    Yes, anenomes can be sucked into any area of high flow... such as power heads

    do you cover just the sides or the whole front?? Thanks for the idea on the gutter guard. I had this same question as the op. Of course, I'm still waiting to be able to get an anemone :( but one can never be too prepared right?

    Oldfishkeeper, I thought MoJoe had a thread on the covers he created, but I can not find it. It maybe in his build thread. Perhaps PM him.

    It's my impression that you have to cover the head of the unit completely.

    In the past I have used knee high ted hose cut to size and placed those over power heads. I like MoJoes DIY better though.

    I used black filtering material, cut to fit, seems to be working fine
