banded shirmp

My was banded shirmp is a monster. so I traded him off for some stuff. he was a fish killer. can anyone tell me why?

Well...these shrimp are very territorial. Im going to assume that he ate small fish? Well these shrimpies will eat whatever they can to survive. If you truly wanted to keep one in the future...you might try direct feeding it alot to keep it from becoming hungry and munching on fish.

You might want to try a less agressive shrimp species such as from the Lysmata family. Cleaner, fire and peppermint shrimp make wonderful and curious additions to any reef tank. They are all hardy, and aid in cleaning your tank.

yeah, pepermint shrimps are cool! I just got one last one. He swimming around last night when I put him in and this morning I found him settled in a cave under a coral rock.

They will come out more at night time. They are a little skiddish but are awesome.
