| baby snails... so for a while now i've had dozens of baby snails hanging out on the front glass of my tank...i'm not quite certain which species they are...i originally stocked my tank with a dozen cerith snails and later added 3 turbos when the ceriths were being turned into extra hermit crab shells...
my question is: is there anything i can do to help these little guys grow up big and strong? and how long will that take?

| Um...Im pretty sure there are "some" things you can do...but that would mean creating a seperate mini tank for raising them. In my opinion leaving them be should be fine, eventually if they dont get eaten, you will have some extra snails roaming around.
I love watching all the baby cleaner shrimp in my tank...even thought i have not yet had one make it to adulthood, i am hopeful. _________ Tank Specs:
55 Gallon Mixed Reef
48" Tek Light: 4-54W T5 HO Fluorescents

1 x 54w Fiji Purple T5 HO Fluorescent
1 x 54w Super Actinic Blue T5 HO Flourescent
1 x 54w 14000K AquaBlue 75/25 T5 HO Fluorescent
1 x 54w 10000k AquaSun T5 HO Fluorescent
Hard Stuff:
100+ lb. Fiji Live Rock
65+ lb. Live sand |

| That's what I figured the story would be. I'd probably crush the li'l ones trying to move them to my QT to grow. They'll just have to tough it out...
My peppermints have had eggs but I've never seen any of the young after they're released, but I hear that's not likely anyway. |

| Does anyone know anyplace that sells the baby cerith snails? I have two small puffers that actually love to eat them...but I have a hard time finding them at my LFS.
He calls me when they come in on accident with other stuff... but he normally doesn't get them... |

| Thanks...I had seen those..but they are pretty big already... I'm looking for the really tiny ones.. like 1/4 inch... cuz my puffers aren't that big.... they couldn't eat the bigger ones.. |

| Pieces23 - Make sure they are snails that you want. Cerith are very hard to breed in captivity.
czieler - I would raise freshwater trumpet snails. They produce like mad, and can get them from any lfs that sells live plants probably for free. Malaysian Trumpet Snail - Melanoides tuberculata |
