Question baby Hermit on mom help?????

hi there i have about 10 hermit crabs and i was looking and there's a baby on the back of one of them and the little one has a small shell already how did he get that and do i have to put other shell's in there for when he get biger and do they bread a lot i just post a pic have a look thank's

Hard to say but it may also be a small snail on the shell of the hermit.

Yes, you should provide a few larger empty shells for your hermits to move into when they outgrow their present shells.

i don't think hermit crabs can breed in captivity.. i think they just release their eggs and sperm up into the water, and basically, whatever happens, happens... and in an aquarium, the "babies" would get sucked up into the skimmer, filters, or whatever... i don't know 100% though... maybe someone could do a search on "breeding of hermit crabs in the home aquarium" or something... oh, and as far as the shell goes, they don't grow their own.. they either find an empty one or kill whatever's inside it and then take it...
