| another bta biting the dust? Hello everyone,
My new anemone found a spot last Thursday (8 days ago) when I introduced him into my tank. It stayed there till yesterday. Now its squeezed in between a piece of rock and the glass. Looks rather uncomfortable!
Its been in this position for a full day. Should I worry? |

| When I went home it was face planted. The pedal disc looks like it's decaying (a white spot about 1" in diamater) and the anemone didnt respond to being touched.
SIGH! |

| This is the second one in less that two weeks. This was a reship, the first was pretty much DoA.
I'm pretty frustrated I don't know that I'm doing anything wrong, I'm considering just asking for my money back. I hate watching these things die. |

| Yes it is. I have ordered from them several times and had a couple of small problems and both were corrected promptly. |

| Hummm, I'm thinking shock. How did you acclimate it and for how long? You should of placed in a crevice somewhere.

| 1.25 hour drip acclimation. maybe 1.5 hours
I doubled the water capacity of the bag over approx 30~35 mins. Emptied half. Repeated this once and then placed him high up in the tank in moderate flow. It climbed own and settled under a powerhead in 30 minutes or so, which had a light to moderate flow in that location. It was content there for 7 days and then moved to the position you see it in now. There are two rocks next to each other in the left of the above image. The anemone was in the crevice they formed together.
EDIT: It didnt show any signs of degradation until recently. Are there any worms or somethign that could be attacking this creature perhaps? I have no idea how its pedal disc could be damaged, its hardly moved at all. |
