Smile Anemone Feeding Question

OK so I got this new bulb anemone, which my clown took to immediately! Part of my MONUMENTAL failure at keeping anemones before was lack of lighting, which I now have more than 6WPG, and I never fed them (stupid, I know, but I was naive). Well now I'm doing things a lot different. The lighting is good, the water parameters are good, and the tank is more then 3 yrs old. I got some frozen silversides, and chopped a couple up today, and fed the anemone about six small pieces. Do I just put the pieces in his tentacles? When I did the reaction was MAJOR! He closed up FAST and I only see about 2 pieces left over because my clown knocked them from his grip. I did actually physically see him eat one piece (which was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!). Is six pieces too many? How often should I feed him (or...it)? Should I aim more toward his mouth or just let him do the work once he grips the pieces? I think I'm doing a couple things right but I always need some reassurance. Any thoughts would be great! THANK YOU EVERYONE!

The best rule of thumb is to feed the anemone as much as it will digest before it regurgitates it. They will eat anything they can fit in there mouth but if the don't digest it before they puke it the leftovers just foul the water. I feed my Condy anem 3x a week NLS pellets and it was doubling in size monthy(strong light too).

I feed my carpet and my bubble tip about 1/2 a silverside per week or everyother week... They don't look starved to me.
The maroon clown feeds them bits and pieces of fish food also
