Question Anemone ate my 6 line wrasse

i just put my first anemone in the tank last night and when i was doing my nightly flashlight looking i noticed the anemone was all closed up. this morning i was up drinking coffee and relaxing looking at the tank come back to life in the light and noticed the anemone was open and then noticed after a few minutes my 6 line wrasse was missing. is this a normal thing???????

sorry i posted in wrong spot!! if possible i dont know how to move it so if someone could help with that thanks

I would tell anyone who would listen that anemones have little place with in a reef or fish tank They should be kept in a species specific system. They eat fish and kill corals they never set where you want them to they move where they want to be for light and flows that will bring them more food to eat. Never add a carpet anemone with anything else you don't want eaten.. I have seen more fish and corals loss to that specific type of anemone then all the others just about combined.

Great advice, but hard for most to follow. Most of us have to learn by our own mistakes. I would say, stick with the hardy ones, bta's, and be prepared for possible loss.

My "Moster" BTA has never eaten a fsh. Stays in place, and only coral it has killed is coraline.

If my smaller type BTA's wander to a unwanted place...it is time to meet "Mr. Joe's Juice"

yea very so true both of them.but everyone tht does saltwater fish and reefs and all the other great combinations of fish and coral and inverts knows that should study it before just dumpng it in a tank and leaving it there.research what you want out of the specimen you want and research what it does and doesnt get along with it.and dont forget th uck of the draw that some do and dont have normal behaviors.
