| It will be easier to identify when it is more open and bigger.
Is that a bristle worm behind it?

I'll snap another pic in a few hours.

| I have the same one(I think), mine has a brownish color to it. I started to target feed it when I got it and now its still a brownish color but the tenticles are a clear/greenish color. The tenticles only come out when the lights turn off. I believe its in the Sun Coral family. | Looks like a Neozoanthus. Does it only open at night and stay semi closed up during the day? _________ [center]Renaming Our Corals "Believe those who are seeking the truth; doubt those who find it." Andre Gide |

| No!!!
Good, though when your Star gets bigger, small fish will not be safe from the Star consuming them!!
Palythoa mats are great, and will spread quickly...They are toxic and will release toxins into the water effecting Small polyped stony corals especially and if there are a large amount of soft corals/zoanthids without the use of efficient skimming, carbon and water changes.
Remember that they are also toxic to humans if touched!!!!! Remember to wash hands after handling them to remove the likelihood of getting toxin in eyes or mouth, which could pose future problems if not treated quickly.
This isn't to scare you just to inform ya!!!! |
