Please help me ID anemone

    Anybody know what this is?

    EDIT: it's about the diameter of a quarter - slightly smaller

    im guessing some type of tube anemone

    It does sometimes elongate into, you could call it, a 3/4" long "tube".

    During the day, it often closes up into a smudge on the rock. If that helps.

    A better pic? I thought that pic was great! :p What angle are you asking for?

    Also, I have a peppermint shrimp that doesn't seem to mind them. . .

    very healthy aptasia?....just a guess...kind of thick though...but looks allot like what I just KILLED !....and is that another one growing behind the rock there?...looks like it showing just a bit.??

    LOL pepp. shrimp should have eatin him... can you get a picture of it closed up, maybe disturb it a bit.

    There you go - all closed up.

    There are three of them total. They're not spreading (at least, not as of yet).

    It does look like a tube anenome. Doesn't look like apthasia to me.

    weird... need the big dogs on this....aptasia don't do that when closed...or at least not to my limited knowledge.
