| Need ID help My live rock came with about 50 of these polyps.
I've been calling them cup corals, because of this: http://www.tampabaysaltwater.com/the...-dsp_large.jpg
But they don't look like the pictures of cup corals I see posted elsewhere.
I was hoping someone out there knew the scientific name of these guys and any tips for their husbandry. I spent an hour clicking on the photos at saltcorner, which was a great reference, but I didn't see an exact match, although some of the torch corals look similar. I've read that clear tentacled corals don't have light requirements, but do need a lot of food. Should I be target feeding these guys some spirulina brine shrimp (or something else) even though I don't have fish to clean up what they don't get? (tank is still cycling), or can they last for a couple of weeks with no feeding?
Thanks |

| They are called Colangia, or phyllangia(hidden cup coral) and are members of the family Rhizanglidae!!! I have many of these in my tank and come on Florida/Caribbean live rock. They are ahermatypic and often aposymbiotic! They come from the Pacific or Atlantic and are normally encrusting! _________ 125gal.w/Mag9.5 return(dual megaflow)>Mag7 pump Aqua Cev180skimmer.Wave2k Hamilton Reefstar(2)250watthqi(mh)pend.a Yellow, Naso Tang Red Lip Blenny Percula Clown Demoiselles Niger Trigger F. Also what are they Aposymbiotic with?

| Don't contain zooxanthellae , therefore their reliance on light is insignificant, similar to Tubastrea! |
