| I recently noticed similar creatures in my tank. Mine are more white than yours, though. All I can comment on is the obvious: radial symetry, single body cavity, and presence of tentacles marks this as an anemone or single coral polyp.
Is it as large as a grain of rice, or bigger? _________ -- SAW39 45 gal modified hex. Started and cycled August 2005.
Decorated Firefish, 2 Serpent Stars, Ocelaris Clown, Yellow Tang, 2 Green Chromis damsels, Condalactis & Macrodactyla dorensis anemones, 1 big bristleworm. |

| They are about 1/4" around, there is only 2 of them, and they are far apart. Nothing in the tank is similar to them. They also react to light. |

| I think it's a Majano or Tulip anemone. Go to the picture halfway down this page at wetwebmedia and see what you think. AnemIDFAQ9 |

| the rock has been in my tank for 3 years and there is only 2 of them. They have spread at all. If it was button polyps, I'd think they would have spread by now, ya know or atleast grown a little. They look like the green and brown palys that are common but a heck of a lot smaller. |

| I'm going with a button polyp too. I've had them before and they don't spread like wildfire like some polyps do. |

| I agree...I think it's a paly too. Palys have separate "stalks" as zoos share a common base. There is another term for base, and I cannot pronounce it much less spell it. Palys are zoos, but not all zoos are palys.
