| Need help from one who knows there crabs Just purchased my first Devils Hand and on the rock I found a crab on the underside when I was putting it in my tank at home.
The crab is white with black strips(or black with white strips )
Size= 2-3 mm not too big.
I would take a photos but it hides very well...
Any help on a name would be great

| Ditto - At least quarantine it until you can ID it. I had a similar hitchhiker not long ago. I felt terrible tearing the tank apart to get at it, but I'm glad I did. Turned out to be a gorilla crab.

| Okay, still no pics yet , the crab is hiding and I cant see it anywhere. After some of your post I looked up the names and I saw one that looked like the one I have: urchin crab. don't know anything about it yet...
I was excited but after everyones reply I am have'n second thoughts... |

Just about any crab, except commonly known "reef-safe" crabs, put corals, feather dusters, snails, hermits, etc, etc...in great jeopardy.
If "hairy" and has "pinchers"....get out of tank asap and make freezer its new home.
