ehh' remove that thing it's a type of bristle it appears and fairly large at that
I'm not "keen" to any type of worm i would seriously remove it and watch for any more of it's kind.
Caution ! use protective gloves , they can inflict a serious sting very painful , and to any one alergic
could cause a severe problem.

If it stings or bites ( all salt water organisms do have a defence of some sort )
and Toxins are a very real threat to any one.

Ive been hit by one ' on my arm (forarm) turn beat red and itch like crazy , and the initail sting did hurt.

Looks like a fireworm: Is a bristleworm, mixed reviews. Some people love them, others have trouble with them eating clams, etc.
