    Hello All,

I'm not sure if this is Cyanobacteria or not because everything I have read about it says that it is more reddish brown in color but this is more of a blood red color.

I cant get all the photos to upload, so here is a link to my flickr account Untitled | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Looks like cyano to me... cyano can come in a pretty wide range of colors.

    Cute clownfish :)

Thanks lol, should I just suck out all the cyano during my next water change?

I usually just pick it up with my fingers or use a net for larger clumps, I keep my siphon away from the sand to prevent stirring it up too much. If it gets too bad, you can do a lights out treatment, and need to find it's source of nutrients. Though it looks like your tank is pretty new, so cyano is nothing to lose sleep over :)

Edit: Sucking it up with a turkey baster is also a good option, it shouldn't disturb the sand as much.

Of course, remembering that I am partially blind it seems :) I think it looks like diatoms.

Looks like both actually. The brown on the sand is likely diatoms, and the red patches do appear to be cyano.

My cyano currently seems to be Lime Green.

IMO Unless you have a mature Deep Sand Bed- I wouldn't worry about stirring it up while siphoning detritus/etc. from it.

I did a water change yesterday but I didn't pick any of it out, and it's starting to fade away today!
