| topoff direct from ro? I have been looking all over for a DIY topoff system for my aquarium.
I am goin on leave for a month, starting on the 1st of july and I am scrambling to get everything ready for the tank. My neighbor is going to watch out for it but he isn't a reefer.
I'm thinking I'll be coming back to a swamp and dead tank.
anyone have plans for a good easy topoff system? |

| I saw some where on this site where someone made their own auto topoff system. Well its not really a system but he had a bucket full of water and he took an airline tube and basically knotted the end of it. It would drip 1 drip of water about every 2-4 seconds. Its basically like your acclimating livestock just that the bucket is your tank.
I guess you can have your neighbor just refill that bucket every time it runs out of water.
Or you can make yourself and DIY floatvalve in the "I made this" section of this site. Easily done with plastic gloves, a tube, and a ping pong ball. |

| Don't set up some custom system and then bolt. You need to make sure it works and is reliable. I would go with a tried and true system like a Tunze or a standard float switch style setup. |

| most LFS' offer a "vacation" service, might want to see what they'd charge just to come in and top off the tank and feed the fish daily, may be cheaper than coming home to a dead tank for sure _________
