I don't think painting the back of your tang would be a good idea. First of all, the fish would probably die, as paint on his skin is a bad thing. Next, if he's swimming to the left, he'd be yellow, and if to the right, he'd be black. That's not good either.
Leave your tangs alone.
Don't paint your tang.
