The first problem I ran into was. I needed to make a hole for the fan. Not having a 120mm hole saw I had to do it the hard way. Drill drill drill. Chisel chisel chisel. I got the fan from Radio Shack for $20. Good deal nice and quite metal housing and blades. Also 65 CFM.

It went pretty smoothly here is the almost finished box. I add some quarter round to support the fixture on the tank and the lights on the fixture. Also here is a pic of the base on the tank.

Alright now it time for fun with wiring. Lets see 6 bulb = 12 endcaps = 24 wiring connections. Plus the fan and the power cords.
Here is all of my end caps.

1/2 hour of wiring and let there be LIGHT
It is kinda cool that these are so brite that the camera blacked out everything else. Any way this pic give you a good idea of how well the individual reflectors work.

Well Okay one mod. The whole fixutre sits on top of a panel of pexi. It is one piece and keeps the moisture away form the wood. The problem was that the back of the pexi was unsupported and sagging. So I had to add a piece of tirm. I left it unpainted because I was nervous that something might leech out of the pain into the tank. It worked like a charm though.
