Default Little Giant Water Wizard a usable pump?

Hi all. I just got a freebie , a Little Giant Water Wizard pump. This thing looks heavy duty, and I was wondering if this would be a good pump to run all my equiptment from. Water return, (2 heads), skimmer..things like that. Should produce enough power, and I could do away with all my little pumps ( 4 of them now, and there still not enough!!)

heres a description....

Discount Pool Supplies Little Giant Water Wizard Submersible Pump 1/6 hp 115V, 25 ft cord

please let me know what ya'll think...

TIA

Sorry I can't help either, but there is one sure fire way to find out. 1200 gph gets eaten up fast. I'm not sure about doing everything and running the skimmer.

I really just didn't want you to feel ignored.

I think that it would probably heat the water up too much but worth a shot nothing beats free DIY.

I would be a little concerned about what kind of oil is used to lubricate the parts. It may be toxic to reef animals. Use caution.

I would be concerned with the compatibility with salt water. If you look around you can get a Mag 12 for around a houndred bucks. I can tell you from personal experience the mag pumps are quiet and VERY durable.

Shaft will not hold up and the seals will fail.. Dolphin Tried this a few yrs ago with their Dolphin 1200 S.S pumps and they all failed and they would not honor the warranties and or found a reason to not honor them I and several of my friends got the shaft on that puppy.. No pun intended and the next Generation Dolphin to replace that one was titanium shaft. My $ 357.00 pump lasted less then 12 months As did most of them.
