Hmm... I was analyzing different refugium designs and came up with in-tank design, like in nano cubes. I think this is the most cost/effective option in my case.

you could always turn your bathtub into the main tank and use the tank you have now as the refugium

Just a small update! I've built my in-tank refugium. In total it's approx 10gal. It's made out of 2x Large Internal Jewel Filtration systems. It's a big black box with built in overflow. The inner chamber is filled with some algae donated by friends from my LFS and 5" layer of live sand. I've installed small 15W halogen bulb over it. The water-flow is around 100gph (inlet pipe of Eheim 2213 is sitting in it). It obviously consumes some space in my 75gal tank, however looks clean and elegant. I'm very happy with this solution.
