| Re: DIY *SUMPS! Matt, you are a funny boy.
I've heard of multiple people using rubbermaid without problems. I don't know about looking for food ratings on a tub that size, but it's logical. My only concern is that ALL plastic over time gets hard and brittle. It may take a decade, but eventually you will need to replace it. Big deal, 20 bucks and 5 minutes with a hole saw.

| Re: DIY *SUMPS! My only concern with design 2 is the level of water in the fuge, in the diagram it looks a little high. *The other concern is that water from the tank is mixing with water from the return from the fuge and then being pumped back into the tank. *I think I would put my return pump in the fuge and modify this design. *I'm looking at this design because I may be getting a 220g and will *probably need an 80g sump. _________ 75g reef with Nova Extreme 8 bulb HO T-5 lighting, refuge, Remora skimmer, DSB, Seio powerheads, Acro's, LPS corals, assorted zoo's & mushrooms, Yellow Tang, Maroon Clown, Blue Cleaner Goby , Cleaner, Fire and Sexy Shrimp, Coco Worm, T.Crocea Clam, Derasa Clam

| Re: DIY *SUMPS! I just swapped out my 29g tank I was using for a sump and switched it with a rubbermaid tub. It works great and I now have my 29g back! |
