Jim | I'm glad all of this is in a closet because I don't think I could fit it under the tank. I will post some pic as soon as the Mangroves come in and I get everything transplanted. This should help keep my parameters in check. _________ Scott 265g (Peninsula)

  | Beautiful job on the Sump/Refugium Otty. I'm planning on starting a similar project very soon. I hope mine turns out half as nice as yours. I may have missed it in a previous post, but would you mind telling me what size tank you used to make the sump?

I just got my mangroves in it last night and added about 7 lb more of LR rubble I got from Premium Aquatic moving sale today, boy was there a lot of people there. When I left they didn't have much LR left. I will get my 5 1/2 back the beginning of the week so I will post pics of it all when the calurpa is in it and running. |

| 1. Is your tank drilled or do you have a overflow pipe?
2. Over your live rock does the water just spill over the baffle onto them?
3. Do you have exact measurements of you heights of baffles?
4.Should i put my hob skimmer in what chamber?

thanks for the help, hopefully in the right the direction

4.Should i put my hob skimmer in what chamber? | 1. Really doesn't matter if it's drilled or OF but the 55g that this was made for was not drilled. My 265g is drilled.
2. The water just spilled over the baffle to a plate I made with holes in it to disperse the water evenly over the LR rubble. I also made the next baffle low enough that if the holes got plugged up with something the the water would just flow over to the middle chamber.
3. I used a 30L and the height I believe was 9 1/2" for water heigth in the middle and last chamber but the first chamber went up close to the top due to keeping the LR chamber above water.
4. I put my HOB skimmers (Remora) intake in the first chamber then let the output from the skimmer spill onto the plate over the LR rubble.
Hope this answers your questions... |

i just made a diy OF out of 1.5 pvc. it should flow just fine.
one quick question, can i reduce to 3/4 inch PVC down into the sump or even 1 inch. or will that reduce my flow a lot |

| It will reduce your flow. Are you using a Duro Standpipe or one that you have made?? |
