Well, keep us informed on how it works out. You are probably a lot more nimble than I am at these things and everytime I got near the end it just sprang apart LOL
The doggies had fun chasing it around the backyard though so it wasn't a wasted effort :-)

| Re: Coiled Denitrator DIY OK, I am going with the 4" PVC Drain Pipe, 2 4" Drain Endcaps, 1/4 tubing, mini ball valve with collets....
I went with the drain pipe stuff cause it is about half the price and should work the same.
Question, How much 1/4 tubing do I need to get anoxic water? Can there be too much? I am thinking, 20-30 feet? When it is coiled, it doesn't go too far...and the pipe I am using is fat. _________ I Love My Sig By John Hawkins!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| Re: Coiled Denitrator DIY
What a good question :-) I've read anywhere between 25 to 50 ft is necessary.
Is the 1/4 tubing clear? If it's not clear, don't forget you can also wrap it around the outside of the 4" drain pipe as well :-)

| Re: Coiled Denitrator DIY Yes, it is clear.....I did not know that....but that's OK
I will be using a good 2 foot piece and the 20 foot tube I have barely makes a dent ....
I will get a collet connector and make it double for 40 feet...
THANKS!! ....and I will post photos when I actually get around to making it.....still getting parts together |

Told ya :-)
Now don't 'spit the dummy in the dirt' like I did and throw it in the backyard :-)
Can you 'tack' the tube to the inside of the larger tube every few turns with some superglue, or a hot melt gun?

Well, I can't see why not, the hot melt should be OK and we know that superglue is inert, so I say go for it :-)
