Hey all DIY, I myself am a DIY but am just curious about someone elses take: I just bought a 50 or so Acrylic HEX. Tank w/o top. If my memory is right each side is 12 in and the legnth of the tank is 24 in? I think? anyways
1) what wood would you use?
2) how tall would you make it ( to allow for lights)
3) estimated cost?
4) anyone have pics of a HEX. reef tank/ top? or links to.

Personally I wouldn't put a top on it and just suspend the lights from the ceiling or make legs for it to rest on the tank top

Regarding #4, check out my friend's old 55 hex:

I liked the center drain on this setup. He did a good job covering the pipe with rocks he glued around it too.

I like the vid. neat concept. I wish I could hang the lights but I cant.
