I just got a biocube 14 and plan on doing doing some mods before setting it up. Asside from upgrading return pump, switching to leds, and turning chamber 2 into a small ruge, anyone have suggestions of things to make it better?

I forgot to mention that an in tank media basket came with the tank when I bought it. It is in chamber 2 right now. Don't think it will fit in chamber 1? There is something in the bottom of my chamber 1 that I haven't tried to get out but looks permanent. As for the skimmer, no skimmer. Ill see how everything goes w/o one for now

depending on the age of the tank, i would advise against this. a friend de-rimmed his, and i cant remember what exactly went wrong, but he said he would never do it again.

Why? I've seen many rimless bio/nano cubes.

I would do a skimmer and maybe the Innovative Marine return line jet.

I want to keep the top on it so the lights stay enclosed so the rim will stay on. I switched the pump out to a biocube 29 pump which is 265 gph I think. I was thinking about adding some locline to split the flow up
