| I am using a propane torch for a very direct, but controlable heat source.
Today I finished my protien skimmer. No pumps needed!!! I use the down draft of my overflow into an acrylic tube (Gravity + Water Pressure = ~650gph in overflow turns out) with a collection cup on top. I made a chamber on the bottom of the acrylic tube and added a 1/4" clear tube that runs up just above the water line in my tank. The downdraft of the water suck an incredible amount of air from the clear line into that chamber producing a tornado effect of bubbles in the chamber above. The water then drops out of the skimmer and into my sump/fuge. No additional power or noise.
Apparently I really needed a skimmer cause the stuff coming out is pretty nasty. _________ -R 2 maroon clowns, 3 bubble tip anemones, 3 emerald crabs, 1 coral banded shrimp, 12 astrea snails, 4 mexican turbo snails, 2 ricordia yuma, 2 purple mushroom ricordia, 2 small zoanthid frags, 8 red legged hermits, 1 flame scallop, 1 watchman goby, gonoporia, sun ployps, yellow polyps, star polyps, galaxea 29g bowfront, 10g sump, 20g fuge, 250W MH, 6 blue LED, 6 white LED, 2 65w power compact Actinic, DIY overflow / skimmer The Weather Is Here, Wish You Were Beautiful |
