Default Will the fish be OK in water?

Hey, per the suggestion of everyone, I'm going to remove my undergravel plates and my uplifts in hopes that it will reduce nitrate issues. I have a shallow sand bed - only 1 to 2 inches deep. My question is, do you think it would be OK, for my fish and inverts and corals to leave them in the tank when I do it? Will the mixture of the sand that's disrupted into the water column and whatever is in it bad for them? Should I do it before my water change that I also have scheduled that day? I want to do this tomorrow, so any quick responses would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Default Re: Will the fish be OK in water?

i would do your water change after you remove the plates. that way you get all the junk thats under them. your fish i would think would be ok as for your mushrooms i would move them to one side of the tank as you pull out the plate on the other side and then move them back as you do the other side. but thats just me

Default Re: Will the fish be OK in water?

i would think that everything would be ok. every once and a while i do a redecorating of my tank. i don't take anything out you will see when the dust settles alot of them will be really full and vibrent. all of the corals will be eating and full out. but that is just what i have found that works for me.
