Well this has been a fun week lets see. I was thinking about getting a new skimmer.
Pondering the MONSTER skimmer
I started that thread and my kent float valve crapped out. I never trusted so it was only 3.5 gallons of FW. Salinity when to 28 and pH with Kalk was 8.5 that day I got home. I got some minor bleaching on a few of my acros but nothing died. So I need a new auto topoff.
Auto Top off that doesn't suck?
Okay so maybe I don't buy the skimmer. Yea right not with my luck. In the past two days I have come home to my Coralife skimmer and it had emptied the sump down to the pumps water line. It had not done that in the past. The first time I wrote it off the second I decide to take apart the pump. The ceramic shaft in the impeller had worn out a big hole in the impeller assembly. Like oblong and twice the size it need to be. So now the Coralife is dead too:mad: . So now I HAVE to buy a skimmer and a auto top. This is getting old. I just want livestock!

You are having quite the month aren't you? Well 8.5 is not too bad...

Is that the pump that came with the skimmer? That does not sound good! It is only a couple months old, right?:mad:

5 months olds. I could buy a new pump for it but I was looking for a new skimmer anyway. My tank is in the hand of my old seeclone right now ugh.

Coralife doesn't sell replace though I could try the warranty. I could get an aquamedic, sedra, or a GEN-X needlewheel pump if I wanted to replace it but I think I am just going to get an ASM.
