| Thanks Jim
Breaks heal....unfortunately, the aches are just something I'm going to have to deal with. All in all, I'm lucky to be alive so I take the pain in stride.
I still love Rachel.....I just want to love her from afar and not be afraid so that's why I divorced her. I don't want to take the thread off track anymore so let's leave it at, I deadbolted my dogs and cat with myself in the basement every night because I was afraid of her. That statement probably tells you all that you need to know. _________ Curt |

| I say my worst problem was not so much a loss of any fish but just a ton of stress. In a 6 week time frame I had to move both my 75 and my 46 gallon from my townhouse to my parents then to my new house due to 6 weeks of being homeless between houses.
I lost one cleaner shrimp and a cardinal fish. Not to bad.
However I lost about 10 gal of spilled salt water in my kitchen, another 10gal in my car and a worn out back :-)
What I learned: I'm pretty good at moving tanks now, however, moving the tanks are way more stresfull than moving the rest of the house :-)
And for Inwall75 (I think I would prefer to move a tank then get locked into a room with your x-wife any day of the week) :-)

| Added a coral, and two fishies to my little 44L tank. Coral didn't look happy... next day, i found several fish on their sides gasping for breath. No measurable problems with water chemistry. The day after, several of them had died, and most of the rest were doing the same. One of the clowns got sucked into a PH inlet. When I reached into the tank to try to fix the situation, my arm turned a bright red color from contact with something in the water. When I touched the coral directly, the parts that had contacted the coral immediately became irritated, and felt like I had been stabbed with needles, turning an even brighter color of red than my arm did. - Removal of the coral, which by this time had discolored polyps and massive water changes seemed to releive a lot of stress from various creatures, but most died anyway.
Haven't experimented with other corals since, though what I think is a Ritteri, and one clown survived. Coral probably died of shock, as I'm not experienced in reef maintenance, but have since gotten a drip hose assembly. (LFS sells a ceramic airstone/hose/adjustable nossle set for about $7 - yes, water flows pretty well BACKWARD through the airstone interestingly)
Looks like I have a <sarcasm>fun</sarcasm> problem with what could be Aitapsia right now too, and have a peppermint to help clean it up, but they could be a kind of coral as well... have been looking at salt corner trying to ID them.
I really need a new tank setup, and to turn my existing tiny tank into a QT. That would have minimized so many of the problems I've had. |
