What is it?

I have this weird starfish thin on my peice of live rock, and i want to know what it is. it is purplish brown, and its legs are covered by small spikes. the whole thing is only about an inch across, but i heard that the crown of thorns starfish looks pretty similar, and these suckers can cause a lot of damage to corals. If you have any ideas what it might be, tell me! ???

if you could get a pic of it that would be great. with saltwater a description can be so many things its hard to tell what is what.
